Kinley grew up in the village of Horseshoe Bay, BC and has called Squamish home for the past 20 years. Always seeking the balance of family and adventure, she is a mother, ACMG Guide, and passionate adventurer. Her list of professions is long and varied, yet always in tune with the seasons. Early years in the Sea to Sky were working summers as a whitewater raft guide and rope access technician and winters, as a massage therapist turned private chef at B.C backcountry ski lodges.
Through all Kinley's travels and adventures one theme has always been constant; food! She takes the preparation and enjoyment of the marvellous medium of nutrition and enjoyment to the next level no matter where the kitchen may be. From high base camps deep in the mountains of the Coast Range, remote ski touring lodges throughout B.C, toting gourmet lunches up one day ascents of El Cap, lengthy sea kayak expeditions, van dwelling desert life... culinary flair is always involved.

FAVOURITE GO-TO CAMP MEAL?
When I am camping on my own with my daughter, whatever is easy; store bought 7 layer dip and chips and beer or Annie’s cheesy pasta with broccoli. If I have a bit more time; hearty pasta with lots of vegetables, or burritos.
THREE FAVOURITE KITCHEN TOOLS YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT WHILE CAMPING?
- A sharp knife!
- My pour over coffee setup (including good ground coffee and a kettle)
- A big ass pot (and non stick pan). It might seem obvious but cooking in pots and pans that are too small is a terrible chore

MOST MEMORABLE SPOT YOU’VE HAD A BACKCOUNTRY MEAL?
I think my visits to the Waddington Range would include some of the most stunning backdrops for backcountry meals. For car camping, hanging out in Indian Creek, Utah, sharing meals with friends around a fire in the red desert is one of my favourite spots.
