Sled RUX: Anthony Bonello

Sled RUX: Anthony Bonello

Posted by Chris Fleugel on

Who are you?

Anthony Bonello. A filmmaker based in Squamish, B.C.

How do you use RUX products for sledding?

Sledding tunnel bag, every-single-day tote, camping, and more!

What do you carry in your 70L for sledding?

Everyday I go out sledding I have a short rope, folding wood saw, a large down jacket and a first-aid kit. I also cut and fold some closed cell foam to fit the bottom of the RUX for sitting on to eat lunch or in case of emergency to insulate a person from the snow. On top of that I will have ski or snowboard boots, lunch, thermos, spare RED camera batteries, gloves, etc.

Why is it better than a more "traditional" tunnel bag?

The RUX holds more than the previous bag I used that was made to fit with my specific sled rack. I can compress it down if I am carrying less. It also fits perfectly along the tunnel without overhanging so I can still easily mount skis and snowboards to my sled.

How do you use the same 70L in the off season?

I literally use a number of RUXs constantly. Family picnic at the lake, skiing with the kids, dirtbike gear in the summer, camping to organize clean and dirt clothes and gear, firewood for a bbq by the river.

What rack system do you use?

I use a CFR iRack 2.0 with ski/snowboard mounts. I use 2x Rokstraps to attach the RUX. This is the key to making the whole system work. They are easily adjustable, but really tight with a bit of give.
